Every morning's workshop will take place in a different celebrated literary café. You will be writing in the haunts of Scott Fitzgerald, T.S. Eliot, Jean Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Gertrude Stein, Man Ray, Arthur Miller, Ezra Pound and Hemingway.

9:30-12:00 am
Over a breakfast of café au lait and croissant, you’ll be given a gentle writing exercise to warm up. Then you’ll hear a short excerpt from a well-known writer who was inspired by Paris, and do a relevant exercise. Your questions of technique will be addressed through the doing. You will have a chance to read your work if you wish.

12:30-2:00 pm Lunch
A charming bistro or café will be suggested for those who wish to eat together.

2:00-4:00 pm
You will be assigned an exercise to write in a different place. Writing will sharpen your senses and your time will be much more fun and enriching than if you were simply sightseeing. However, there will be time for that too!

4:00-8:00 pm
Free time for sightseeing, museums, shopping, walking, sitting in a café drinking un café or un verre de vin, people watching or writing.

8:00 pm Dinner
For those who want to eat dinner together, Margaret will organize a meal each evening in a typical Parisian restaurant that she feels is special for atmosphere and value. Otherwise, she will provide you with a list of delightful alternatives.
