Thanksgiving Workshop

Jolt your creativity in New York City! The Big Apple, Gotham or Center of the Universe, no matter what you call it, is the boldest, the hippest, the richest, and the most diverse of places. Wherever you go you won't be far from a street, a bar, a store and a historical site referenced in a classic work of literature, cinema or art.

It's wonderful time to visit New York! There are more cultural events than at any other time of year. And you can witness The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, an annual tradition since the 1920s. Its memorable floats and balloons are practically synonymous with Thanksgiving Day and the beginning of the holiday season. In New York you'll encounter colorful characters, evocative settings and unusual experiences — raw material for fiction!

That's why perhaps more than any other American city, New York has been a beacon to writers. Washington Irving, Mark Twain, Edgar Allan Poe, Henry James, Edith Wharton, Hart Crane, Dylan Thomas, and Allen Ginsberg are just a few who lived in, worked in, and wrote about New York. Let New York inspire you while you expand your craft. The instruction, the writing, the sights and new friends will stimulate and delight you during a memorable week!
